Man remanded for alleged fatal accident

A driver in his 40s who allegedly caused the death of a man in an accident on Sunday along Lodoni Road, Tailevu has been remanded.

Aporosa Robaigau of Kinoya who is a delivery assistant appeared before the Nausori Magistrate Court this afternoon.

Robaigau is charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death, one count of failure to comply with requirements after an accident and one count of driving a motor vehicle without a valid license.

He will now take his plea on the 28th of this month.

Robaigau was represented by a Legal Aid Commission Counsel.

It’s alleged the accused hit the 23-year-old victim at around 4am on Sunday and failed to stop or report the matter to Police.
