Man facing murder charge further remanded

Twenty-year-old Saula Temo alleged to have been involved in the murder of a man at the Suva Foreshore has been further remanded in custody.

A twenty-year-old man alleged to have been involved in the murder of a man at the Suva Foreshore has been further remanded in custody.

Saula Temo has applied for bail and the state has objected.

The state submitted that the accused failed to appear in court previously, hence needs to be remanded.

Meanwhile, the two-week trial will begin on February 17th next year.

Saula Temo faces one count of murder.

It is alleged that on May 17th, last year Temo hit 23-year-old Akuila Salavuki at the FDB foreshore with a piece of timber that caused his death.

The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood by two men the next day.

The case will be recalled on the 27th of this month for bail ruling.
