Man cops nine years jail term for aggravated robbery case

A man found guilty of one count of aggravated robbery has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment by the Suva High Court.

The court heard that in March last year, Emosi Baledrokadroka attacked a man and stole cash and assorted items worth $400 in Kinoya, Nasinu.

During this violent attack, the victim sustained serious injuries on his head.

Baledrokadroka was also amongst three men who escaped the police custody in Lautoka in March this year but were later apprehended.

Baledrokadroka has many criminal cases before the court and is currently serving eight years and nine months jail term for another aggravated robbery case.

A non-parole period of seven years has been set.
