A Nausori man has had his jail time reduced after appealing against his sentence.
40-year-old Namosi Malua was jailed for six years ten months after he was found guilty for one count of being in possession of illicit drugs and one count of cultivating illicit drugs, namely marijuana.
In his appeal, Malua stated the sentence was harsh and suggested that it be reduced to four years or below.
The High Court judge stated that looking at the quantity of drugs, the sentence needs to be reduced.
His sentence has been reduced to two years.
Malua was found with 10.75 grams of marijuana in his possession along with some marijuana plants on his farm in Nausori on 22nd November 2016.
