A German national that was found with illicit drugs during a raid on Sunday night in Nadi, appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court in the last hour.

55-year-old Jorg Flugel who is a truck driver from Germany was allegedly found with 2.2 grams of cocaine and 1.9 gram of marijuana.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Parmesh Chand objected to the bail because Flugel is a flight risk and the case is of public interest.

Chand also says that the drugs are not manufactured locally and the future of our young generation is at high risk.

The accused has been charged with two counts of possession of illicit drugs.

The man has been remanded and will take his plea on Monday.

Meanwhile, a woman who was taken in for questioning in relation to the matter has been released.
