Former Post Master charged with corruption bailed

A former Post Master with Post Fiji was produced in the Sigatoka Magistrates Court today charged with corruption-related offences.

Paulo Ramasima was charged by the FICAC with one count each of Theft and Falsification of Documents.

It is alleged that the Accused stole cash amounting to $17,972.55, Post Office stock worth $591.93 and folio stock of $610.36 between August 2017 and June 2018.

Furthermore, he allegedly falsified a Received Telegram form and a Payment Voucher of $13, 000 with the intention to obtain that gain from Post Fiji last April.

FICAC State Counsel Sera Fatafehi informed the court that first phase disclosures were served and requested that strict bail conditions be imposed on Ramasima.

Resident Magistrate Jeremaia Savou instructed the Accused to surrender his passport and issued a Stop Departure Order accordingly.

The matter has been adjourned to the 16th of next month.
