Former FNPF employee released on bail in second matter

A former FNPF employee of Fiji National Provident Fund who allegedly defrauded the fund has been released on bail by the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.

Jack Edward Hiramatsu appeared in court yesterday facing five more charges of forgery however he was not released on bail as he was not able to provide proper sureties.

Magistrate Dipika Prakash released him on bail with strict bail conditions.

It is alleged that he forged various legal documents pertaining to the purchase of land.

It is alleged he and three others tricked FNPF officials into accepting the documents as genuine and obtained $37,500 – released from their FNPF accounts.

The money was allegedly shared amongst all the accused persons.

Hiramatsu is facing more charges of forgery now and will be produced in the court with five other people again this afternoon.

All six are alleged to have colluded to use forged Certificate of Titles to withdraw more than $31,000 from the FNPF accounts of four of the accused.
