Feroz Jan Mohammed has withdrawn his appeal against conviction and sentence in the Court of Appeal today.
Mohammed was convicted of bribery in 2015.
Mohammed was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for bribery, obtaining financial advantage and abuse of office.
Through his company TF Jan Ltd, Mohammed paid $110,000 in bribes and was able to lodge false invoices and circumvent procedures to obtain over $3.1 million from the Fiji Roads Authority.
He had earlier told the court that he had only one year left his non-parole period and the legal advice given to him was to withdraw his appeal application.
The Court of Appeal this morning granted leave for the withdrawal.
