The driver alleged to have caused the death of two students aged 14 and 18-years has been charged.

The two students died following a motor vehicle accident along the Kings Road near Naviveiwali in Wainibuka, Tailevu last week Friday.

The accused has been charged with two counts of Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and one count of Dangerous Driving.

The victims were passengers in the car driven by a 30-year-old man from Nabuna in Tavua and were heading towards Suva after 3am on the 8th of November when the accident occurred.

The accused is alleged to have lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road, plunging into the nearby river.

The driver is alleged to have fallen asleep at the wheel resulting in the tragic accident.

He will be produced at the Nausori Magistrates Court later today.
