Downes alleged murderer to appear in High Court today

A 39-year-old Congo national charged for allegedly murdering his 44-year-old wife Jennifer Downes will have his case heard at the High Court today.

Kiala Maracellino Henri Penakoy Lusaka’s case was transferred from the Magistrates Court two weeks ago.

It is alleged that on the 23rd of last month, Lusaka murdered his wife Jennifer Downes.

Downes – an Australian national – used to work as a logistics officer for the United Nations’ World Food Program in the Pacific. Her body was discovered at her residence in Service Street, Suva.

The case will be called at the Suva High Court today for mention.
