The Suva High court today revoked the bail of 28-year-old Rajiv Padhyachi who is charged with one count of attempted murder.

The Suva High court today revoked the bail of 28-year-old Rajiv Padhyachi who is charged with one count of attempted murder.

This after the court found out that Padhyachi had breached his bail condition.

It is alleged that on September 15th last year, Padhyachi pushed his partner into a pool at the Colo-i-Suva Forest Park in an attempt to drown her.

While giving evidence during cross-examination, she informed the court that Padhyachi had messaged her through text last month.

The High court Judge than noted that this was a breach of bail condition and revoked Padhyachi’s bail.

The matter was stood down for few minutes and when it resumed Padhyachi’s lawyer informed the court that his client had messaged her about a civil matter between them.

As part of the bail condition, an accused is ordered not to interfere with any witnesses.

Padhyachi will now have to stay in remand until the conclusion of his trial.
