The Prosecution will be calling three witnesses today in the rape trial of former 7s player Amenoni Nasilasila at the Lautoka High Court.

26-year-old Nasilasila is alleged to have raped a 24-year-old woman in Olosara, Sigatoka on December 22nd last year.

The first state witness who is currently taking the stand is the complainant.

Prosecution lawyer Mehzabeen Khan in her opening statement before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar and the 3 assessors said their evidence will come from the witness box and documents.

Khan says anyone can be a victim of rape and that the law is for everyone.

The trial continues.
