Communications officer charged for alleged drug importation

A communications officer will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today charged for allegedly importing illicit drugs namely marijuana.

The 52-year-old woman was arrested at the Suva Post Office upon receiving two candles from the United States allegedly containing marijuana.

The contents of the parcel were tested and proved positive for illicit drugs.

She faces one count of Unlawful Possession of an Illicit Drugs and one count of Unlawful Importation of Illicit Drugs.
