“They should go and ask Police!”

This is the statement by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama when responding to claims made by Social Democratic Liberal Party member Mere Samisoni.

Speaking to FBC News, Samisoni claims government was behind disallowing SODELPA and NFP supporters yesterday into the Suva High court.

However, Police have refuted Samisoni’s claims, confirming the court room was closed because it can only accommodate a certain number of people.

FBC News understands that the first preference of attending the court sitting for the high profile legal redress case was given to the petitioner’s, all respondents and various media organisations covering the case.

Meanwhile, members of Parliament, the Supervisor of Elections and Faiyaz Koya have until tomorrow to file their answers and legal documents as respondents to the petition challenging the results of the 2018 election.

The matter has been adjourned to Thursday to determine the number of witnesses expected to be called and to set a hearing date.
