A 43-year-old Chinese national charged with murder pleaded guilty in the Suva High Court today.

The counsel for Wang Qi Yong had asked for the case to be stood down as the guilty plea was contrary to the instructions given to his lawyer.

The accused is charged with the alleged murder of a 33-year-old woman at the victim’s home in Namadi Heights, Suva.

The woman was found dead in her room by her flat-mate on May 13th.

The matter has been adjourned to the 25th of October.
