Canadian accused of drug offences further remanded

A bail hearing for the 24-year-old Canadian national charged with drug-related offenses will be called later this month.

Joshua Aziz Rahman has been charged for one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

It is alleged that on 14th February, after a raid, 39 bars of a white substance was recovered from his home in Caubati which weighed 39.5 kilograms.

The bars were later tested positive for cocaine with an estimated street value of $31 million.

Defense today applied for bail but prosecution strongly objected to this.

The case will be recalled on March 20th.

The accused has been further remanded.
