Jale Baba

A bench warrant has been issued for former politician Jale Baba as he was unrepresented in court today.

His counsel Filimoni Vosarogo was not present to defend his client.

The case was called at the Suva Magistrates Court today and defense was to provide a full medical report which did not eventuate.

Jale Baba has been charged with one count of making a false declaration.

It is alleged that between August 1st and October 15th last year, he made false statements on social media by publishing falsified voter lists and other false information related to the voter lists on Facebook, which he knew to be false.

The case has been adjourned to 24th June for a mention.
