Bail hearing for Nausori Highlands murder accused set for next month

The bail application for New Zealand resident Muhammad Raheesh Isoof will be heard next month.

Isoof who is alleged to have murdered a Nadi family has been in remand since September and has made a bail application.

The prosecution filed their response today.

Isoof is charged with 5 counts of murder and 1 count of attempted murder.

It’s alleged that between 25th and 26th of August, Isoof murdered carpenter, Nirmal Kumar, his 54-year-old wife Usha Devi, their 34-year-old daughter, Nileshni Kajal and her two daughters Sana aged, 11, and Samara, 8.

The bodies of the Legalega family were discovered in the Nausori Highlands in Nadi.

A one-year-old was also found at the scene.

Isoof’s bail matter will be heard on 4th November but he will appear in court again next Friday for his substantive matter.

He has been further remanded in custody.
