Bail extended for a former police officer

The Suva Magistrates Court yesterday extended the bail of a suspended police officer.

Kamal Kishore Mishra is charged with 11 counts of conspiracy to defraud obtaining a gain and 14 counts of theft.

He is charged alongside a former employer of a service station – Kameli Volau who is charged with one count each of conspiracy to defraud obtaining a gain and theft.

The State made an application that the matter is transferred to Magistrate Waleen George as the accused has another matter before her.

It’s alleged that Mishra stole $1007.95 cash by using a Total card that was issued to the Fiji Police Force.

It’s also alleged that Volau stole $100 from the Total card.

The alleged incidents occurred between March 1st and March 13th, 2017 in Suva.

Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa has adjourned the matter to February 11th.
