A 43-year-old man from Kadavu charged with one count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs has been further remanded.

Tevita Lalakonakoro is alleged to have cultivated 172 marijuana plants weighing 95 kilograms.

He was arrested last month.

Lalakonakoro applied for bail however, the state objected asking for seven days to file their objection.

The defense has asked for three days to file their response.

The state has also been given 21 days to file information and disclosures.

The matter has been adjourned to next Thursday for the bail hearing.
