A 20-year-old woman and her 28-year-old partner who allegedly murdered a two-year-old girl appeared in the Suva high court this morning

Luisa Maria Kumar and Christopher Narayan are each charged with murder.

It is alleged Narayan and Kumar murdered Kumar’s daughter earlier this month.

The victim was allegedly found lying unconscious in their Nakasi home by her mother.

She was rushed to the Valelevu health center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The post-mortem revealed the child sustained serious injuries resulting in her death.

Upon further inquiry, the investigators discovered that Narayan and Kumar had allegedly been fighting and the child was caught in the middle of the dispute.

The state today asked for 21 days to file their information and disclosures.

The matter has been adjourned to 15th April.
