A 62-year-old father has pleaded not guilty to rape and sexual assault charges.

It is alleged that he raped and sexually assaulted his 15-year-old daughter.

The man is charged with four counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.

The alleged incidents occurred between October and November last year in Lami.

The court heard that the girl informed about the incident to her mother and friend who then reported the matter.

The defense counsel told the court that they have been facing difficulty in finding an alternative place for the accused to stay and are yet to file for bail.

The accused has been further remanded and the case will be recalled on June 27th.
