Lateef further remanded in custody

Former Suva Lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef (Middle) appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court.

Former Suva Lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef charged with one count of being in possession of illicit drugs has been further remanded.

Lateef appeared before the Suva Magistrates Court.

Defense Lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo told the court that they have filed an application with the High Court to review the bail ruling delivered by the Magistrates Court.

Lateef has been charged with being in possession of illicit drugs for the fifth time, arrested following a raid at his house in Nailuva Road, Suva on the 14th of last month.

Lateef was allegedly found with white substances weighing point zero six three grams which later tested positive for methamphetamine and dried leaves that tested positive for marijuana.

The case will be recalled on September 17th.
