The group of men was arrested last Saturday for entering the Savura Dam premises in Colo-i-Suva and allegedly threatened to cut off the water supply to residents of Suva.

They broadcast their protest vial social media claiming they were not receiving the lease money for the dam in Savura.

FBC News witnessed a heavy police presence providing security at the court as a large group of landowners from Colo-i-Suva were present at the sitting.

In court, Defense Counsel Niko Nawaikula requested for bail and told the court his clients will follow the bail conditions.

This was not objected by the Prosecution.

The group’s defense counsel also submitted to court ten copies of disclosures.

The men have been instructed to strictly follow their bail conditions which include reporting to their nearest police station, surrender their travel documents and ensure their sureties are employed.

They have also been ordered to stay 200 metres away from the government property, don’t interfere with any employees of the Water Authority who work at the dam and they’ve been given a curfew from 12am-3am.

The men are expected to take their plea on the 18th of next month.
