The man accused of murdering a Fijian woman residing in Auckland, New Zealand.
He is sixty-three-year old taxi driver, Jiwan Ram.
New Zealand media report Ram appeared in the High Court in Auckland yesterday charged with murder of Wati.
The forty-seven year old woman was found dead in her Mt Wellington home on November 3.
Ram, with both arms heavily bandaged, pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to a trial on August 31.
He was granted name suppression at his first appearance in Auckland District Court, so family could inform other relatives, but that has now lapsed.
Detective Inspector Chris Cahill says police were called out after reports of a domestic dispute on Rielly Place.
When they arrived, they discovered the body of Wati and Ram, who had suffered injuries to his arms.
He underwent surgery at Middlemore Hospital in the week after the incident.
Ram will be back in court in February.
