A 26 year old woman is still admitted in Lautoka hospital after sustaining ten percent burns to her body over the weekend.

It’s alleged the woman was shopping with her 3 year old daughter in Lautoka on Saturday afternoon when her 34 year old husband poured benzene on her and set her on fire.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the victim is still admitted at the ICU ward while the suspect who also received burns is under Police guard while being admitted at the hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
