The Construction Industry Council is looking at ways to fast track authority approvals.
Council Chief Executive, Vijay Naidu says it takes more than six months for various authorities to approve relevant documents before a particular project begins and this is a concern.
Naidu says they’ve assigned a task force to help address this issue.
“The best way, the fastest way we can get approvals so the building can start. At the moment, it’s too long, we’ve lost so many investors because of delays in getting project approvals.”
Naidu says the task group will be reviewing the processes and might introduce a one stop shop where people can go to authority for approvals if the need arises.
The Construction Industry has put in place a total of nine task groups to address various issues.
