Council conducts house to house visit

Nasinu Town council officers are currently conducting house to house visit in an effort to encourage rate payers to pay up their overdue arrears.

Special Administrator Mosese Kama, says the new approach is proving to be quite effective.

Kama says in the past the Council usually issued notices to rate payers however this approach was not effective.

He says with house-to-house visits the Officers are able to confront the issue face to face with individual rate payers and inform them of the options available encourage them to pay their overdue rates.

Among the options available is the deductions made from their source of salary, and the services of M-Paisa.

Eight cases are currently before the courts and Kama says taking legal action against ratepayers is their last resort.
