The Copra Millers of Fiji today launched pure virgin coconut oil – its first coconut by-product.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum applauded the Copra Millers of Fiji for continuing to review, revive and reinvent itself during the launch in Savusavu this morning.
Copra Millers suffered $500,000 damage during TC Winston in 2016 however has recovered since and is doing well.
Last year, through government’s help, the company opened its new Virgin Coconut Oil factory worth $700,000.
Chair, Raj Sharma says they’ve been working on developing their pure VCO product and obtaining a name for it.
He says they managed to get approval to use Fiji Virgin Coconut which will be sold locally and internationally.
The Attorney General also handed over a truck worth $155,000 to help the Copra Millers to collect coconuts from the farmers and take it to the mill.
