COP23 President and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and his delegates were today traditionally welcomed by the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs and the three confederacies of Kubuna, Burebasaga and Tovata.

Bainimarama says he will never forget the event of Fiji hosting COP23 in Bonn, Germany.

He says the COP23 was a successful meeting and this was possible through their long preparations prior to the climate change summit.

He also thanked the three confederacies for the traditional welcome.

He adds that such traditional welcoming is important for children to see so that they don’t lose focus of their tradition.

Meanwhile, more than 200 delegates attended COP23.
