Consumers urged to report matters to FCCC

May 27, 2018 7:20 pm

Consumers who have issues with products purchased under the Homes CARE initiative from businesses are urged to contact the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission to file their complaints.

FCCC’s chief executive Joel Abraham says they’re aware of certain sales by traders and are closely monitoring this issue.

Abraham says many people have been issued with M-Paisa cards under the initiative and some businesses are luring customers to buy products which have been partially damaged by the recent floods.

“What business are trying to do is salvage some items and they are saying that these items are still in working condition and they can be utilized and they have given a substantial discount on certain items.”

Abraham says consumers need to choose items carefully and ensure that they get the maximum value out of their purchase.

He says businesses also have the obligation to inform customers about items and provide warranty, back up for after sale services.
