Consumers make 499 complaints in 3 months

The Consumer Council registered just on 500 complaints in the first three months of this year.

In its quarterly report released today the Council says more than half the complaints, 283, were resolved by mediation.

75 other cases were referred and assisted by the Small Claims Tribunal or passed on to other authorities.

Landlord and tenancy issues, as usual, top the number of complaints while the second highest number of issues involved mobile phone products.
