Consumer Council calls out PBS

July 12, 2012 1:01 am

The Consumer Council of Fiji is demanding answers from the Pacific Broadcasting Services Fiji about its present state of affairs.

This follows numerous complaints from the public about a number of channels that have been dropped without any proper explanation.

Council CEO Premila Kumar says the broadcaster needs to come out clean with their customers.

“PBS has a responsibility towards its customers, they must be transparent, they must come out clean and tell the public what’s the story so that PBS subscribers can make a decision, currently they can’t. And they must also tell the subscribers whether they will be getting a full rebate for this month because they can’t see most of the channels. Only one channel is operating.”

Calls made to PBS’s Suva office as well as to PBS CEO Simon Fong have all gone unanswered.
