The consulters of the National Youth Policy are hoping to wrap up by the end of July next year.

Research and Policy Manager Coram International Kirsten Anderson says that consultations are expected to continue next year and they are aiming at visiting the outer islands.

She says it’s an important document that needs youth views and they also do not want to rush the process.

“yeah we are trying to get it done fairly swiftly but we also want to make sure it’s a quality policy that really responds well to the views of a range of young people like its getting that balance I guess.”

Anderson says issues like defining the age category of youth, health issues, rise in NCDs and sexual health issues were raised by young people during the consultations.

She adds the feedback from the youths has been remarkable.
