Construction work has begun for the new Korovula Bridge in Vanua Levu.

Construction work has begun for the new Korovula Bridge in Vanua Levu.

The bridge is situated in Seaqaqa, along the Nabouwalu – Labasa Road.

Fiji Roads Authority CEO Jonathan Moore says the new permanent bridge will be a single span steel beam bridge of 17.5m with 2 lane traffic and 2.0m walkway.

A single-span and single-lane temporary bailey bridge of 39m is constructed on the upstream side of the existing bridge for the flow of traffic.

The new Korovula Bridge is expected to be completed by mid-August 2020, weather permitting.
