Fiji Master Builders Association secretary Vijay Naidu says there’s a lot of job opportunities in the construction industry.

Naidu says that Fijians are unaware of the income they can earn from this industry unless they study programs like carpentry, joinery, designing.

He claims that people in this field can earn up to double the money they earn from white collar jobs.

” Once you get a diploma in office management or business studies, you start work, and your pay could be around $3.50 to $4 mark per hour. But once you qualify as a carpenter, your staring pay could be around $6-$7 an hour.”

He says more youths need to carefully think about their career choices and his urging young Fijians to try out this field of work.
