Representatives of 14 Pacific Island Countries have gathered in Suva to discuss ways to improve public service delivery.
The Pacific Islands Centre for Public Administration (PICPA) which is a joint initiative between the University of the South Pacific (USP) and the Australian Government has facilitated the three day conference.
In launching the inaugural PICPA conference, the Minister-Counselor for AusAID, John Davidson highlighted the importance of good public administration.
“Good public administration raises not only public confidence, but also investor confidence, fostering economic activity and creating employment opportunities.”
A multi-year work plan will allow PICPA to respond quickly to requests made by small island countries.
