Competition for Miss Fiji seen as a great privilege

Eleven contestants from across the country will vie for the title of Miss Fiji this weekend.

Some contestants have said becoming competitors at this level was unexpected, however being part of the celebration is a great privileged for them.

Events Co-ordinator Hirdesh Prasad says other activities are also organized as part of the week-long festival underway at Albert Park and the Museum compound in Suva.

“We also have added some flavours such as volleyball started from last Saturday and cricket game that is ongoing also battle of the bands which was started from last Saturday and continues today and tomorrow .We have Ferris wheels and rides also candy floss.”

In December, whoever is crowned as Miss Fiji this Saturday will be a contestant in the Miss Pacific Island competition which was officially launched in Nadi last night.

Ten contestants have registered for the Miss Pacific Islands event.
