The salaries of all parliamentarians will be reviewed following the appointment a parliamentary committee.

The motion, which was put forward by Government Whip Ashneel Sudhakar, was seconded by one of the Opposition MPs.

The Committee has been set-up as per “The Members of Parliament Emoluments Decree.”

“The Emoluments Committee comprise of the nominations as follows – Dr Brij Lal as chairperson, Jone Usamate, Alvick Maharaj, Salote Radrodro, Prem Singh as members with Alex O’Connor as a reserve from the government side.”

The Parliament has been adjourned until 12th of September, when it will be opened by the President, marking the new parliamentary year.
