The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human Rights will tomorrow receive oral submissions on the Code of Conduct Bill in the Western Division.
Committee Chair Alvick Maharaj says the Bill will be a game changer for public officials and they want to ensure that there are comprehensive deliberations by travelling to the main centers.
“On Monday and Tuesday we are travelling to Lautoka and on Tuesday, we’ll be in Nadi, travelling on Wednesday to Labasa, we’ll have a submission there as well and then Thursday we are going to Savusavu.”
Maharaj notes that the committee will continue to hear submissions on the Code of Conduct Bill for the better half of January and the first two weeks of February.
He says the committee expects to table their report on the Bill in the March sitting.
