A complaint was filed against Groenewald for allegedly interfering with an investigation.

The matter related to a 59 year old diplomat at the South African High Commission who was involved in an accident on Friday night.

The diplomat was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and the vehicle he was driving hit another vehicle killing its driver.

Groenewald later issued a statement saying the diplomat was entitled to immunity under the Vienna Convention.
