Commission plans World Human Rights Day

The Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission will mark World Human Rights Day on 10th of December.

The commission has partnered with Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights for the Pacific and the United Nations Development Programme for the course.

The commission’s Officer in Charge Rajinesh Mishra says Fiji has made significant gains in the area with the State ensuring that the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission is strengthened.

Mishra says through a robust Bill of Rights which guarantees and protects the rights of individual citizens where for the first time, Socio- Economic Rights have been included in the Constitution.

This year’s theme for the World Human Rights Day Celebration is “Our Rights, Our Freedoms Always”
