The Commission on the Status of Women provides a great opportunity to raise our voices on issues and successes faced by Fijian women.

This was highlighted by Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa at the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York.

Vuniwaqa says the Commission also allows them to learn from other nations with the mutual goal of achieving gender equality and empowerment of women.

The Minister is also expected to deliver a country statement later in the week on the theme Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
