“Co-operatives present a strong, vibrant and economically viable alternative to groups of individuals, who have limited resources to start business alone. Co-operatives are formed to meet peoples mutual needs, based on the notion that together a group can achieve goals that can positively impact their livelihood and that of community at large.”

The Permanent Secretary says the government has invested greatly in the development of the Co-operative sector.

Ali adds Fiji is commemorating the Co-operatives day celebration after three decades.

Meanwhile, over one thousand eight hundred Co-operatives have registered in Fiji over the last seven decades.
