October 18, 2015 1:03 am

Crushing for the 2015 season at the Labasa Sugar Mill will end next Saturday.

Sugar Cane Growers Council chief executive Sundresh Chetty says the Council and the Fiji Sugar Corporation are confident remaining cane in the Labasa sector will be harvested by then.

Chetty urged cane farmers in Labasa who are yet to harvest their cane to do so immediately and transport it to the Mill.

Chetty says he will make a joint proposal to the Sugar Industry Tribunal with FSC on when these two mills should end the 2015 crushing season.
