Climate change is real: PM

October 17, 2017 12:10 am

It’s hard to find any part of the world that is unaffected by the threats of extreme climatic events says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Opening the Pre-COP meeting in Denarau this morning, Bainimarama says we in the Pacific need no lessons on this threat following the devastation caused by the strongest cyclone to ever make landfall last year – TC Winston.

Bainimarama says we can no longer ignore this crisis – whether it is fire in California, Portugal and Spain, flooding in Nigeria, India and, the dramatic Arctic melt or the recent hurricanes that devastated the Caribbean and the southern United States.
