Two youth climate champions received special recognition from the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

They were recognised for their efforts in advocating and creating awareness on the impacts of Climate Change.

Timoci Sausauwai and Shalvi Sakshi, the two primary school students took to the global climate stage after being announced winners of the Primary Schools National Oratory competition as part of the National Climate Week in June 2017.

Since then, Fiji’s youngest climate champions have continued to be inspirational and exemplary ambassadors raising awareness at both the international and national level.

The Ambassadors have represented Fiji at both COP23 and COP24 and numerous high level events.

The Prime Minister in handing over $1,000 cheques to each of them, commended the duo for a job well done and wished them the very best in their future and in particular best wishes for the new school year.
