Clean and safe drinking water for Nakoso villagers

Villagers of Nakoso in Wailevu East, Cakaudrove now have clean and safe drinking water.

This follows the opening of the village rural water supply project today.

Water Authority’s Regional Manager North Apete Radrodrolagi, says 10 households in the village will now have reliable water supply 24 hours and seven days a week.

WAF constructed a dam intake, a new tank basement for a 10, 000 liter storage tank and installed several standpipe connections to supply water to the homes.

Previously, villagers relied on the river beside the village for drinking, cooking, washing and bathing.

Village headman Isei Rokodali, says for years they have been wanting clean and safe drinking water and it’s now become a reality.

He says the women and children will be the most pleased as they will no longer have to make the daily trips to the river.

The project cost around $56,000 and benefits close to 50 individuals.
