Class two student assaulted

Investigations are underway into allegations that a class two student was assaulted during a school parade last week.

Family members claim the seven year old was slapped by other students on the orders of a teacher.

And the student’s grandmother Lakai Seini is demanding answers on what happened last Thursday, causing her grand daughter and name-sake to suffer a nose bleed.

The class two student of Vatuwaqa Primary School told FBC News she was allegedly beaten for not paying attention when the head teacher was making an announcement .

When approached by FBC News at Vatuwaqa Primary, the Head Teacher refused to entertain our questions only saying there was no assault and that Seini just had a nose bleed.

A complaint has been lodged with both the police and the Education Ministry.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirms there’s a complaint accompanied by a medical report.

Seini in the meantime refuses to go back to school, saying she’s afraid.
