City and towns in Tonga closed due to TC Gita

City and towns in Tonga have closed as the Kingdom braces for Tropical Cyclone Gita.

Reports coming out from Tonga says that people are well prepared.

Evacuation centres have been set up all around the island.

The Latter Day Saints Chapel and Free Wesleyan Church halls are open for anyone.

Tonga’s Acting Prime Minister, Semisi Sika has declared a state of emergency.

The cyclone is a category four, and on its current track, it is expected to pass close to the main Tongan island of Tongatapu later tonight.
